This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
A wintry mix of rain, freezing rain and snow will progress north
across the area today. Most of the area will transition to rain by
early afternoon but freezing rain will be most prevalent through
tonight in western and central MN, where a Winter Weather
Advisory is in effect.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible around the Interstate 90
corridor tonight through early morning Friday. A few storms may be
severe, with the main hazard being large hail.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Rain will change to heavy snow during the day Friday while strong
northeast winds develop. Accumulating snow is expected across the
entire area, potentially as high as 4 to 8 inches north of the
Interstate 90 corridor. In addition, the strong winds in
conjunction with the falling snow may produce blizzard conditions
in western and central MN. A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect
for most of central and southern MN into western WI.
Looking ahead, another large storm system is likely to impact the
Upper Midwest Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing a mixture of
precipitation types to the area.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southeast
Minnesota...central Wisconsin...north central Wisconsin and west
central Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
A wintry mix of precipitation will develop this afternoon with
some light accumulations of snow possible north of I94 before the
snow changes to rain this evening. Ice accumulations could occur
especially across parts of Taylor County. Scattered non-severe
thunderstorms are expected tonight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday
A potent spring storm system impacts the region through Saturday
morning and will bring a variety of hazardous weather including
strong to severe storms, heavy rainfall, heavy snow, and strong
winds.
Severe storms is growing increasingly likely south of Interstate
90 Friday afternoon and early evening. Strong to severe storms
could approach I90s with damaging winds and large hail.
Widespread rainfall is expected Thursday night through Friday
night with locally heavy rain possible. Due to the frozen ground,
melting of snow, and the rainfall, runoff could lead to ponding of
water and river flooding.
Moderate to heavy snow is becoming more likely north of I90 Friday
night into Saturday morning with amounts in excess of 6 inches
possible. See the winter weather watch for details.
Finally, strong and gusty winds are expected at times Today through
Saturday morning. Wind gusts over 45 mph will be possible
especially Friday afternoon and Friday night. The combination of
strong winds, blowing snow, and falling snow could result in
reduced visibilities and difficult travel conditions in open
areas.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation may be needed near Interstate 90 on Friday
afternoon. Snowfall reports may be needed Friday night into
Saturday.
.EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATION...
A webinar is scheduled for 2pm this afternoon.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north-central and northeast
Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Hazardous travel conditions are likely late this afternoon through
tonight, mainly north of highway 29. Wet snow should arrive from
west to east during the late afternoon and early evening hours. It
will change to rain across central and east central Wisconsin by
mid evening, and to freezing rain further north. Snow accumulations
should range from an inch or so south of highway 29 to as much as
six inches near the Michigan border. Ice accumulations will range
from a trace across east central Wisconsin to a third of an inch
in the Northwoods.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday
Freezing rain will change to rain Friday afternoon across northern
Wisconsin with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in the
central and east central parts of the state. Severe thunderstorms
are not expected.
The precipitation will change to snow from northwest to southeast
Friday night and diminish Saturday morning. Six to twelve inches
of snow are possible across northern Wisconsin, especially north
of a Wausau to Marinette line, resulting in poor visibilities and
snow covered roads for motorists. Strong northerly winds may gust
over 40 mph late Friday night into early Saturday afternoon, which
could create blowing drifting of the new snow. Very difficult
travel conditions will likely develop on Friday night into
Saturday morning.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters are requested to forward snow and ice measurements to
the National Weather Service in Green Bay.
