This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight
Gusty winds between 40 and 50 mph are expected to begin late
tonight across the east TN mountains and foothills. See current
Wind Advisory for more information.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday
A few strong to severe storms are possible on Tuesday, but low
probability. Within this low probability environment, the
southern TN valley and southwest NC have the better chances of
seeing a strong to severe storm compared to areas to the north.
There is a conditional risk of an isolated tornado across the
southern areas if storms become surface based in the afternoon
hours. This is where the Marginal Risk is in place in the current Day
2 SPC outlook. Areas north of the Marginal Risk, central valley
and northward, could see some isolated damaging wind gusts with
any of the stronger storms.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not needed at this time.
