...Reduced Visibilities this Morning...
Patchy fog, locally dense in a few areas, has developed across
portions of Southwest Montana. Some areas that were seeing reduced
visibilities where the US 191 corridor between West Yellowstone
and Bozeman, I-15 from Bozeman Pass to Belgrade, and the US Hwy 89
corridor within Meagher County. Travelers should be prepared for
visibility as low as one quarter of a mile. Slow down, allow extra
spacing between vehicles, and use your low beam headlights when
traveling in areas of reduced visibility.

...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT...
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air
quality alert for Blaine, Daniels, Dawson, Fallon, Garfield, Hill,
McCone, Phillips, Prairie, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan, Valley, and
Wibaux counties in effect until 9AM 6/12/2025 elevated particulate
levels from wildfire smoke This alert will be updated again at 900am
6/12/2025.
An Air Quality Alert means that particulates have been trending
upwards and that an exceedence of the 24 hour National Ambient Air
Quality Standard (NAAQS) has occurred or may occur in the near
future.
As of 9AM, Particulate levels in Malta and Sidney are Unhealthy
When air quality is Unhealthy... State and local health officials
recommend that people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly,
and children should avoid prolonged exertion; everyone else should
limit prolonged exertion.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
Showers and thunderstorms possible today, mainly across central and
southern portions of the area. Main hazard is gusty winds, which
could be 40 to 50 mph.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday...Strong thunderstorms are possible across northern and
eastern portions of the area, namely around Johnson County. Wind and
hail are the main hazards.
