...SERIES OF WINTER STORMS TO AFFECT THE MOUNTAINS AND PASSES
THROUGH THE SATURDAY...

.A series of winter storms will begin to push into North Central and
Southwestern Montana today, with snow beginning over the higher
terrain early this afternoon. Today`s snowfall will focus on the
Mountains of Central and South-Central Montana, with 4 to 8 inches
over both Kings Hill and Bozeman Passes today, with higher amounts
above pass level. A period of lighter snowfall is expected Friday
morning and afternoon, with more widespread heavy snow returning to
the area around sunset Friday. Snow will continue across the area
Friday night into Saturday evening, with an additional 6 to 12
inches expected over the passes and higher amounts above pass level.

MST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Snowfall totals of 4 to 8 inches at
  pass level through tonight with an additional 5 to 12 inches at
  and above pass level Friday and Saturday. Total snow accumulations
  between 10 and 20 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains, Little Belt and
  Highwood Mountains, and Gallatin and Madison County Mountains and
  Centennial Mountains.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 5 AM MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be
  required for some vehicles. Those in the backcountry should ensure
  they are prepared for dangerous conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Significant travel impacts to the Thursday
  and Friday commutes are possible for Bozeman Pass and along
  Highway 191 south of Bozeman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1 or visiting the MDT Road Report website.

Remember, a Winter Storm Warning means that there is at least an 80%
chance of impactful winter weather conditions during the warning
period.

PM MST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches
  for Jackson Valley, Star Valley, and the Upper Green River Basin.
  Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches across Yellowstone
  National Park, the Absarokas, western Wind River Mountains, and
  the northern portions of the western Bighorns are expected with
  the highest elevations potentially seeing up to 20 inches. Winds
  gusts between 30 and 40 mph will be common across the Absarokas
  with isolated gusts above 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northwest, and west
  central Wyoming.

* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 2 PM MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could become very difficult, including through
  Hoback Canyon. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday
  morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A brief lull in snowfall rates may occur
  during the day Friday with the heaviest snowfall likely to arrive
  Friday night through Saturday morning. Gusty winds look to
  accompany the heavy snowfall which may create reduced visibility
  and drifting snow.

.Multiple weather system will bring snow to the Central Panhandle
Mountains beginning Thursday and continuing through Saturday. The
first round of snow on Thursday will bring light accumulations to
the valleys and moderate accumulations to the mountains. Subsequent
rounds Friday into the weekend will come with rising snow levels
with the potential for heavy snow above 3000 feet.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Western and Central Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Areas of blowing snow possible across Interstate 80 through the
morning, as winds subside.

Winds gusts of 35 to 50 mph will be possible late tonight north of
Cody and the Upper Wind River Basin.

Areas of fog will develop over portions of Yellowstone NP tonight,
and possibly spreading into northern portions of the Jackson Valley.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday through Saturday night...Periods of snow will begin over
northwestern portions Thursday afternoon and spreading to far western
portions Thursday night. A break in the snow is possible Friday
afternoon, before starting again Friday night and ending late
Saturday night. Snowfall amounts of 1 to 2 feet is possible in the
western mountains and amounts approaching 12 inches in the
Jackson/Star Valleys over this 3 day period.
