THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...Increased risk of rip currents and sneaker waves
expected with breaking waves up to 16 feet.
* WHERE...Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National
Seashore and San Francisco Peninsula Coast Counties.
* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Monday evening.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous conditions are forecast along the shoreline.
Hazards include sneaker waves, strong rip currents, and large
breaking waves.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay off of jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside
infrastructure. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous surf
and NEVER turn your back on the ocean. Monitor local weather,
surf and tide forecasts at www.weather.gov/mtr.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT NOW IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING
THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, Up to 1.4 ft of
inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas
near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the Beach Hazards
Statement, increased risk of rip currents and sneaker waves
expected with breaking waves up to 16 feet.
* WHERE...San Francisco, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern
Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast Counties.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 3 PM PDT Tuesday.
For the Beach Hazards Statement, from Saturday morning through
Monday evening.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only
isolated road closures expected. High tides will result in
flooding along coastal trails, cut off access to some low-
lying beaches and coastal areas, and bring water and waves
farther up the beach than typical. Dangerous conditions are
forecast along the shoreline. Hazards include sneaker waves,
strong rip currents, and large breaking waves.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide
is expected to be 1.4 ft above normal (7.3 ft MLLW) at 11:50 AM
Saturday 10/10, 1.4 ft above normal (7.3 ft MLLW) at 12:18 PM
Sunday 10/11, 1.2 ft above normal (7.1 ft MLLW) at 12:46 PM
Monday 10/12, and 1.1 ft above normal (7.0 ft MLLW) at 1:14 PM
Tuesday 10/13. These predictions include up to 1.2 ft of surge
that will enhance the astronomical tide and flooding threat.
High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the
Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
Stay off of jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside
infrastructure. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous surf

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO 10 PM
PDT MONDAY...
* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, Minor tidal overflow
flooding and strong rip currents are expected. For the High
Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet is
expected.
* WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara
County Central Coast Beaches.
* WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, from Saturday morning
through late Saturday night. For the High Surf Advisory, from
6 AM Sunday to 10 PM PDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Pooling of sea water is possible around high tide at
beach and harbor areas that is uncommon with normal tidal
ranges. Enhanced beach erosion is also possible. The risk for
significant damage is very low. There is an increased risk of
ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out
to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and
capsize small boats nearshore.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides of 6.6 to 7.2 feet will be
common each morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay
near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in
such conditions, stay off the rocks.

NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Increased threat of sneaker waves expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Del Norte, Northern Coastal Humboldt,
Southwestern Humboldt and Coastal Mendocino Counties.
* WHEN...From late Saturday night through Monday afternoon. .
* IMPACTS...Large, unexpected waves can sweep across the beach
without warning, sweeping people into the sea from rocks,
jetties, and beaches. These sneaker waves can also move large
objects such as logs, crushing anyone caught underneath.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Don`t be fooled by an ocean that looks calm. There can be
30 minutes of small waves before a sneaker wave strikes. Avoid
rocks and jetties. Avoid steep beaches. Stay much farther back
from the water and never turn your back on the ocean.
