...Scattered dry and wet thunderstorms develop on Friday...

.An upper level low will inject elevated moisture to the region
by Friday morning. Storms will track towards the north through
the day. A mix of dry and wet storms will provide abundant
lightning to the region through Friday evening.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM FRIDAY TO 1 AM PDT
SATURDAY FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ON DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONES 624 AND 625...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM Friday to 1 AM PDT
Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* IMPACTS...Abundant lightning on dry fuels will likely create new
  ignitions across the region. Any fires that develop could spread
  rapidly. Numerous new fire starts could overwhelm initial
  attack.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 624 and 625, covering most
  of Klamath and Lake Counties. The southern portions of the
  zones near the California border have the highest chances of
  seeing abundant lightning.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Moving northeast around 20 to 25 mph. Storm
  mode will be a mix of dry and wet thunderstorms.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts up to 35 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Follow all fire restrictions. You can find your county`s
emergency sign up form as well as links to fire restrictions at
weather.gov/medford/wildfire. One less spark, one less wildfire.

Be sure you`re signed up for your county`s emergency alert
system. Familiarize yourself with your emergency plan and make
sure you listen to emergency services. Visit ready.gov/plan for
more information.

A Red Flag Warning is issued when we identify weather conditions
that promote rapid spread of fire which may become life-
threatening. This does not mean there is a fire. These conditions
are either occurring now or will begin soon. It is important to
have multiple ways to receive information from authorities.

.An upper trough from the Pacific is forecast to move into
southeast Oregon beginning Friday afternoon, then across
southwest Idaho Friday night into Saturday. The trough will bring
a 30 to 60 percent chance of thunderstorms with potential for new
fire starts due to lightning. Initial storms may be dry with
strong gusty outflow winds, especially in southeast Oregon, but
storms overnight through Saturday will gradually trend wetter as
they spread into Idaho.

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 6 PM Friday to
noon MDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 423 Owyhee
  Mountains and 426 Southern Highlands.

* TIMING...From 6 PM Friday to noon MDT Saturday.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 45 mph.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
  quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will occur shortly.
