...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN LUZERNE COUNTY THROUGH
315 PM EDT...

At 250 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Nescopeck, or near Berwick, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Hazleton, Berwick, West Hazleton, Freeland, Bear Creek, Dorrance,
Conyngham, Nescopeck, Slocum, and White Haven.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for
northeastern Pennsylvania.

At 242 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Auburn Center, or 11 miles southwest of Montrose,
moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Rush, Springville, Montrose, Dimock, Harford, Mehoopany, New Milford,
Nicholson, Meshoppen, and Laceyville.

At 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Sweet Valley, or 17 miles northwest of Wilkes-Barre, moving east at
40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Wilkes-Barre, Falls, Muhlenberg, Kingston, Nanticoke, Plains, Old
Forge, Pittston, Taylor, and Plymouth.
