* WHAT...Temperatures up to 103 expected.
* WHERE...Treasure Valley and Weiser River Basin.
* WHEN...From 11 AM MDT /10 AM PDT/ to 8 PM MDT /7 PM PDT/ Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially
for the young, elderly, and animals.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

* WHAT...Moderate risk of heat effects expected. Temperatures in the
upper 90s and up to 104F are expected in the afternoons with
overnight temperatures only dropping down to the upper 50s to
mid 60s in the early morning hours.
* WHERE...Lower Hells Canyon/Salmon River Region.
* WHEN...From noon Monday to 9 PM PDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...This level of heat affects anyone without effective
cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts likely in some health
systems, heat-sensitive industries and infrastructure.
