* WHAT...Snow, heavy at times. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8
inches above 7500 feet, with up to 3 inches expected below 7500
feet.
* WHERE...Chuska Mountains and Defiance Plateau.
* WHEN...Until 11 PM MST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
become slick and hazardous. Even light snowfall amounts can create
hazardous driving conditions due to slippery, snow-covered roads.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
Forecast snowfall amounts from midnight MST Today to 11 PM MST

* WHAT...Snow, heavy at times, above 7000 feet. Total snow
accumulations between 4 and 8 inches, with higher amounts of 8 to
14 inches above 8000 feet.
* WHERE...White Mountains.
* WHEN...Until 5 AM MST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
become slick and hazardous. Travel is not recommended as heavy
snowfall and low visibility will create dangerous driving
conditions.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

* WHERE...Western Mountains, Far Northwest Highlands, and Northwest
Highlands.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Tire traction will be
reduced. Extend the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle
in front of you. This includes along portions of I-40.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Colorado, southwest
Colorado, west central Colorado, east central Utah, northeast Utah
and southeast Utah.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
Snow is expected later this afternoon and will continue overnight as
a cold front and associated upper level trough move through the area.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for 6 to 12 inches of snow
for the La Sals and Abajos in Utah and most of the Colorado
mountains.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Snow continues Saturday though coverage and rates will diminish. By
late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, snow will come to an end.
Dry conditions return for the next week.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however
spotters are encouraged to report snowfall amounts to the
National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
