...AREAS OF BLACK ICE AND FOG CONTINUE ACROSS THE
REGION THIS MORNING...
Temperatures across the region remain around, or just below
freezing this morning. Patchy areas of freezing fog, which
developed prior to sunrise, will continue to be seen through late
this morning. Some of the fog could be locally dense, with quick
reductions in visibilities to under a quarter mile and may result
in icing on elevated objects and car windshields. Additionally,
patchy ice may continue to be seen on untreated roads, as well as
parking lots and sidewalks.
Temperatures are expected to warm above freezing later this
morning, decreasing the risk of freezing fog and black ice.
For your safety, prepare accordingly. If traveling, please slow
down, and leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in
front of you. If you venture outdoors, use extra caution when
walking. Ice on sidewalks and steps will be hard to see.
Additional statements will be issued as conditions warrant.
