Storms this afternoon and evening may produce localized flooding
from excess heavy rain. The greatest threat is east of the
Appalachian divide.

Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight
Heat Index values in the upper 90s to 104 degrees can be expected
again today across the central and southern TN valley.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms can expected through this
evening. The greatest coverage will be along and north of
interstate 40. Wind gusts up to 45 mph and isolated flooding are
possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Tuesday
Heat index values in the upper 90s to near 104 degrees are
expected through much of the week across the East Tennessee
Valley. A few strong storms are possible with the main concern
being damaging winds and localized flash flooding.
