This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated excessive cold risk.
  Significant snow risk.

DISCUSSION...

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from now until 6 PM
Sunday. Expected snowfall is widespread 4 to 10 inches with
localized pockets up 12 to 14 inches across the area. The
heaviest snow is forecast to fall tonight into Sunday morning.

A Cold Weather Advisory in effect now through 12 PM Monday.
Single digit lows (above and below zero) and wind chills below -10
degrees will be likely each morning this weekend.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Snow will continue into Sunday ending from west to east Sunday
morning and afternoon. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect
until 6 PM Sunday.

High temperatures will only be in the single digits to low teens
on Saturday. Behind the winter storm, high temperatures in the
20s and 30s through Thursday along with lows in the single digits
to teens will extend the time it takes for any snow on the ground
to clear.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

Heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain will continue until this
afternoon. Refer to the Winter Storm Warning and Ice Storm Warning
for details.

An extended period of below freezing temperatures will
continue today. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect through this
evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

An extended period of below freezing temperatures will
continue through all of next week, with the most dangerous wind
chills occurring Monday morning and Tuesday morning. An Extreme
Cold Warning runs from 12am Monday through Tuesday morning.

South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

Dangerous wind chills in the 10 to 20 below zero range will remain
in place tonight. See latest cold weather advisory for additional
details.

Snow will continue today and tonight before gradually shifting
southeast late tonight. Storm total snowfall is expected to
generally be in the 5 to 10 inch range. See latest winter storm
warning for additional details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Dangerous wind chills in the 10 to 20 below zero range will
continue for Sunday morning and Monday morning. See latest cold
weather advisory for additional details.

Snow will be quickly exiting southeast Kansas on Sunday morning.
Light snow chances will return for Sunday night for areas generally
west of I-135 with only light accumulations anticipated.

This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

AREA...Far Southeast Oklahoma.
ONSET...Ongoing.

WIND CHILL.
RISK...Significant.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

DISCUSSION...
Areas of snow and sleet ongoing early this evening across much of
eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas will intensify overnight
through early Sunday. Areas north of Interstate 40 will receive
additional snowfall amounts of four to eight inches with
localized amounts around ten inches. Locations along and south of
Interstate 40 will receive two to six inches of snow and up to
an inch of sleet. These accumulations will make travel near
impossible at times especially late tonight through early Sunday.
Dangerously cold wind chill values are ongoing and will continue
through tonight. Any prolonged outdoor exposure could be deadly
due to these temperatures.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
SUNDAY...Winter Weather and Dangerous Wind Chill Potential.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY...Dangerous Wind Chill Potential.
WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Sleet and snow will be ongoing early Sunday with a transition
to all snow as the storm system moves away from the region.
Snow intensity will diminish by Sunday afternoon and end from
west to east by Sunday evening. Travel impacts will persist
from the widespread footprint of heavy snow and sleet accumulations.
Dangerously cold wind chill values will continue through Monday night
and prolonged outdoor exposure could prove deadly. Temperatures
will slowly warm by mid week but the overall warming trend will
be dependent on the sleet and snow persistence through mid week.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING STATEMENT...
A major winter storm and dangerous cold event is ongoing. Hazardous
road conditions from significant accumulations of snow and sleet will
result in accidents and possibly stranded vehicles. Widespread road closures
are expected across the area. Along with the winter
precipitation, bitterly cold temperatures and wind chill values
below zero will occur at times from today through Monday morning.
Warming stations will be needed.

Snow will be widespread into the early evening, but slowly end
from northwest to southeast late tonight into Sunday morning.
Additional snowfall will range from up to two inches in north-
central Kansas to two to four inches southeast of Interstate 35.

A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect with wind chills around
15 degrees below zero early this afternoon and late tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

The Cold Weather Advisory continues until noon Monday. Wind chill
values as low as 21 degrees below zero are forecast.
