This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
FIRE WEATHER DANGER.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Western Osage and Pawnee Counties.
ONSET...This Afternoon.
DISCUSSION...
Above normal temperatures, low humidity, and breezy south winds
will result in a limited threat for rapid fire spread across parts
of northeast Oklahoma that remain in persistent drought.
SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
MONDAY...No Hazards.
TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential.
WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...No Hazards.
EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Increased southerly winds, warm temperatures, and low afternoon
humidity values should continue to lead to limited fire weather
concerns through Tuesday in Osage and Pawnee counties.
A heavy rain and localized flooding threat will develop late
Tuesday night and continue into at least Wednesday and Wednesday
night, as a strong cold front brings multiple rounds of showers
and thunderstorms to the region. The threat for a few strong to
severe thunderstorms is limited but not zero during this time
frame. The heavy rain threat may linger into Thursday before
ending. Continue to monitor forecasts through the middle of next
week for the latest expectations. Much cooler temperatures will
move into the region behind the cold front for the end of the
work week and beginning of next weekend.
