This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

AREA...Far Southeast Oklahoma and West Central Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.
RISK...Elevated.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

DISCUSSION...
Widespread rain showers along with scattered thunderstorms spread
across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through tonight while
a low pressure system moves over the region. The greater thunder
potentials reside over southeast Oklahoma into western Arkansas,
though the better instability is expected to remain south and east
of the forecast area. Severe weather potentials continue to be low
through tonight. Also through tonight, a locally heavy rain threat
exists mainly over far southeast Oklahoma into west central
Arkansas through tonight, which could create localized areas of
increased flood concern.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Rain showers and thunderstorm chances are expected to be ongoing
Friday across much of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas while
the backside of the low pressure system moves through the region.
Again, a locally heavy rain threat continues into Friday. Much of
this precipitation is forecast to exit Friday evening. Additional
shower and thunderstorm chances are forecast for the weekend into
early next week with another weak disturbance moving across
Plains. Behind this next disturbance, a warming trend and more
humid conditions are forecast for eastern Oklahoma and northwest
Arkansas.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Strong thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening
across south and southwestern Arkansas with some gusty winds
possible. Widespread severe weather is not expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected through the
weekend as a slow moving system moves through the area. Rainfall
totals will range from three to five inches for most of the state
with locally higher amounts of 5 to 7 inches possible over
portions of western and southwest Arkansas. Localized flooding can
not be discounted especially Thursday afternoon and Friday night
mainly over western and southwestern Arkansas. Hot and humid
conditions return to the state around the middle of next week with
heat indices over 100 possible.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain will be
possible today and tonight. Areas that receive repeat heavy rain
may be at risk for localized flooding.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

The scattered shower and thunderstorm chances will continue Friday
and into the weekend, with the best chances on Friday. There will
continue to be a localized flooding risk on Friday.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Scattered showers and storms are expected for locations along and
east of the Kansas Turnpike today and tonight. Strong and severe
storms are not expected, but some storms may produce brief heavy
rainfall and gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Isolated storms will continue to be possible across southeast Kansas
Friday morning and early afternoon.

Slight chances for storms will remain for mainly the overnight
hours Saturday through Tuesday. Widespread severe storms are not
expected with this activity.

Spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight.
