The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  the Anchorage area.

* Until 545 AM AKDT Saturday.

* At 359 PM AKDT, moderate to heavy rain continues to fall in the
Anchorage area, leading to minor flooding along area streams.
Automated rain gauges indicate 24 hour rainfall totals of around
1.25" along the front range of the Chugach Mountains and 0.55" to
0.75" across the rest of Anchorage. River gauges along Campbell
Creek and Chester Creek indicate that water has risen above
bankfull along portions of these creeks. At current levels,
portions of the Chester Creek bike path will get inundated.

* Rain will continue through Saturday morning, with an additional
0.25" to 0.50" of rain expected. This will continue to produce
minor flooding along small streams as well as ponding of water on
  area roadways.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
