...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR ALL EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA BEACHES TOMORROW

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY FOR SOUNDSIDE OF OUTER BANKS DARE
COUNTY THURSDAY...

.Strong south winds will build large surf of 8 to 12 feet by early
tomorrow morning. This combined with onshore flow will also
result in minor beach erosion, especially on south facing beaches.
The strong south winds will increase water levels over the

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM THURSDAY TO
1 AM EST FRIDAY...
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 5 PM EST
THURSDAY...

The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has issued
a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 8 AM to 5 PM
EST Thursday.

* LOCATIONS...Soundside flooding from Rodanthe north. High surf
all beaches with areas south of Cape Hatteras having largest
  surf.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE...up to 1 foot above ground.

* SURF HEIGHT...8 to 12 feet.

* TIMING...Tomorrow morning through tomorrow night.

* IMPACTS...Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet will result in
dangerous surf conditions. Do not enter or approach the water
due to the risk of being swept away. Minor beach erosion is
  also expected.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor flooding is expected in the most
vulnerable locations near the waterfront and/or shoreline
resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect 1 foot
(above ground) of inundation in low lying, vulnerable areas.
Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks,
lawns, and homes near the waterfront will experience shallow
  flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area, producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
