  of 2 cm per hour or greater occurring, and may rapidly
  accumulate on vessels. For the Gale Watch, southwest winds 20
  to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and waves 6 to 11 ft possible.

* WHERE...Lake Superior from Upper Entrance to Portage Canal to
  Manitou Island MI 5NM off shore to the US/Canadian Border and
  Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette
  MI and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian
  Border Beyond 5NM from shore.

* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 7 AM EST Thursday. For the

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
  hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
  components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
  superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
  stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
