...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 AM EDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of northern New Jersey, including the following
  counties, Middlesex, Morris and Somerset.

* WHEN...Until 315 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to
  excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow
  moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the
  water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in
  urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1136 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported road closures
    due to flooding from heavy rain early Monday evening.
    Flooding is already occurring. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerville, Somerset, Edison,
    East Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret,
    Madison, Middlesex and Florham Park.

Turn around...don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

...The National Weather Service in New York NY has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in New Jersey...

  Saddle River near Lodi affecting Bergen County.

For the Saddle River...including Lodi...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO TOMORROW AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Saddle River near Lodi.

* WHEN...From this evening to tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 5.5 feet, Saddle River begins to overflow into the
  back parking lot of the Boys and Girls club.

At 6.0 feet, Flooding on the Boys and Girls Club parking lot.
Flooding begins at the parking lot of the Portuguese American Club.
Flooding starts at the intersection of Kimming Avenue adn Borig
Place. Flooding also begins at the parking lot at the Municipal
building in Rochelle Park. Saddle Brook along Rochelle Park Swim
Club water is overflowing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:30 PM EDT Monday the stage was 4.7 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage to 5.8 feet
    just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood
    stage late tonight to 2.4 feet early Wednesday afternoon and
    remain below flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 5.5 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    6.1 feet on 01/27/1996.

  - At 9:15 PM EDT Monday the stage was 7.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:15 PM EDT Monday was 7.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late Wednesday evening and continue falling to 5.6 feet
    Thursday evening.
  - Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    7.0 feet on 01/30/1994.

    rainfall is expected.

    Newark, Elizabeth, Plainfield, Linden, Orange, Summit,
    Millburn, Caldwell, Clark, Fairfield, Union, East Orange,
    Irvington, West Orange, Montclair, Westfield, Livingston,

  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect
  many areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 931 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned
    area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Morristown, East Hanover, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Boonton,
    Butler, Rockaway, Morris Plains, Mountain Lakes, Riverdale,
