...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in North
Dakota...

  James River at Lamoure affecting La Moure County
For the James River Basin including Lamoure...Minor flooding is
forecast.

. The James River near LaMoure continues to rise due to melting
snow and releases out of upstream dams. At the current rate of
rise, the river should reach minor flood stage in the LaMoure area
by Friday morning. The river will rise to near 15 feet by Saturday
evening, then remain in minor flood stage through early next
week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Do not drive into areas where water tops the
roadway. Turn around...Don`t drown. Avoid driving on flooded roads.

steadying off with a rise expected later in the week as runoff from
snowmelt enters the system. Exception is the Goose and Maple
rivers. On the mainstem Red River, the river has crested from Grand
Forks southward and will be in a slow fall. Oslo is at its peak and
water levels there will remain nearly steady the next few days.
Drayton and Pembina will see continued rises.

* At 10:45 AM Thursday the stage was 16.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 17.4 feet by
  Wednesday evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* At 17.5 feet...The water reaches the bottom of the bridge 2 miles
  north of the gauge.

* At 14.0 feet...Water reaches the bottom of the bridge 3 miles north
  and 1 1/2 mile east of Ashton.
