Lake effect snow potential continues to increase for Thursday
through Friday night or early Saturday, southeast of Lake Ontario.
Forecast confidence is still low at this time range in regards to
band placement, timing, and snowfall amounts. Stay tuned to the
latest updates as forecast details become more clear on snow amounts
and timing. Winter weather headlines may need to be issued at a
later time.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central New York.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
A strong cold front will cross the region late Wednesday. Winds will
increase along and behind the cold front, with wind gusts of 40 to 50
mph possible late Wednesday through Thursday night.
Lake effect snow will likely develop Thursday and continue through
Friday night or early Saturday east of Lake Ontario. There is
considerable uncertainty at this time range in regards to the
specifics of band placement, timing, and snowfall amounts. In
general, the greatest potential for accumulating snow and travel
impacts is expected to be across the higher terrain of the Tug Hill
Plateau region south and east of the Watertown area.
