THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 8 to 18
  inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph creating blowing and
  drifting snow and whiteout conditions.

* WHERE...Wayne and Northern Cayuga Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM Monday to 7 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected making travel very
  difficult at times. The hazardous conditions will impact travel
  through the week.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snowfall and strongest winds
  expected Monday night through Tuesday evening with lingering lake
  snows continuing through mid-week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Widespread accumulating snow will create dangerous travel conditions.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just
a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM MONDAY TO 7 AM
EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, freezing rain expected.
  Total ice accumulations around three tenths of an inch. Winds
  gusting as high as 45 mph. For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy
  snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet. Winds gusting
  as high as 55 mph creating blowing and drifting snow along with
  whiteout conditions at times.

* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. Greatest snow
  accumulation expected south of Watertown and Fort Drum.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 4 PM this afternoon
  to 10 AM EST Monday. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 4 PM
  Monday to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Slippery conditions are expected this afternoon and
  tonight. Some tree damage is likely with scattered power outages
  due to the ice. Whiteout conditions are expected starting Monday
  afternoon and will make travel treacherous and potentially
  life-threatening. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous
  conditions will impact travel through the week.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow is expected oscillate
  several times downwind of Lake Ontario this week. Forecast
  snowfall amounts could be much higher where lake bands persist
  during this long duration event. The strongest winds will be
  Monday and Monday night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Widespread accumulating snow and ice will create dangerous travel
conditions.

Periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will result in slippery

  treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel will be very
  difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact travel through the
  week.

  Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow expected. Total snow
  accumulations between 7 and 14 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50
  mph.

* WHERE...Madison and Oneida Counties.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 7 AM EST Monday. For
  the Winter Storm Warning, from 7 PM Monday to 7 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely. Travel could
  be nearly impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly
  reduce visibility Monday night through Tuesday night. Hazardous
  conditions could impact Monday and Tuesday commutes. From both ice
  overnight and then strong winds Monday through Tuesday, there
  could be tree damage.
