EST MONDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 4 to 7 inches
across higher terrain, but less than 2 inches across lower
elevations. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce some
blowing and drifting snow in open areas.
* WHERE...Lewis County. The majority of the accumulating snow will
be limited to the higher terrain of the Tug Hill Plateau and
western foothills of the Adirondacks, with much lower
accumulations in the Black River Valley.
* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 7 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult with snow covered roads and
reduced visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the
Monday morning and evening commutes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited
visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 4 to 7
inches in the most persistent lake snows across the higher terrain
inland from Lake Erie. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will
produce blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE...Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. The greatest
accumulations will be across the higher terrain inland from the
Lake Erie shore. Accumulations close to the lake including along
the NYS Thruway will be less than an inch.
* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 1 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult with snow covered roads and
poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday
morning commute.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just
a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.

3 and 7 inches, mainly in higher terrain areas. Winds gusting as
high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Southern Cayuga, and Tompkins
Counties. Mainly at higher elevations.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds
will cause blowing snow at times.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Mixed rain and wet snow in early afternoon,
will become narrow bands of accumulating lake effect snow late
afternoon through Monday.

with locally higher amounts possible where bands of lake effect
snow persist. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph late this morning
through this evening.
* WHERE...Crawford and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 1 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions with slower travel
likely. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning
commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall totals will be highest across
eastern inland Erie County and northeastern Crawford County with
snowfall totals and impacts decreasing to the west.
