...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MST TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Periods of moderate to heavy snow, strong winds and blowing
  snow. Additional snow accumulations between 8 and 15 inches. Winds
  gusting as high as 60 mph on the mountain tops.

* WHERE...Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains and Crazy Mountains.

* WHEN...Until midnight MST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Mountain recreation will be impacted by heavy
  accumulating snow and blowing snow.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snowfall will occur on west and
  northwest facing slopes, including the mountains near Cooke City.
  The mountains around Red Lodge will see much less snowfall, 1 to 5
  inches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Those in the backcountry should ensure they are prepared for
dangerous winter conditions.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous.

  35 mph.

* WHERE...Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains and Little Belt and
  Highwood Mountains.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM MST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Tire chains may be required for some vehicles if
  traveling through mountain passes. Blowing snow could
  significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree
  branches.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 12
  inches, with higher elevations seeing an additional 15 to 20
  inches. Gusty winds of 30 to 45 mph will be common. Gusts of 60
  mph are possible across the highest elevations.

* WHERE...Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains and Salt River and Wyoming
  Ranges.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM MST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, especially over Teton,
  Togwotee, and Salt River Passes. The hazardous conditions could
  impact travel through midday Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of moderate to heavy snow are
  possible through Noon Saturday. Snow and gusty winds could cause
  reduced visibilities and drifting snow.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Additional snow accumulations of 8 to 15
  inches over central and northern portions of the western Bighorn
  Mountains, with higher elevations seeing up to 20 inches. Snow
  accumulations of 1 to 8 inches across southern portions of the
  Bighorns.

* WHERE...Bighorn Mountains West.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM MST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult over Granite and Powder
  River Passes. The hazardous conditions could impact the travel on
  Saturday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy periods of snow are expected between
  5AM and NOON Saturday when snowfall rates of 1 or more inches will
  be possible.
