...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina...

* WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
  occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 525 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the heaviest rains have
    pushed south of Downtown Charleston. Just over 2.25 inches of
    rain fell at the Citadel as this activity moved across the
    peninsula. While the heaviest rains have pushed south, flooding
    is likely ongoing in some areas. Heed any road closures.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Downtown Charleston, Medical University Of South Carolina, Marion
    Square, Columbus Street Terminal and The Citadel.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy rain in Downtown Charleston will result in nuisance flooding of
low-lying areas. Areas most prone to flooding include the Market,
Crosstown, East Bay Street and Morrison Drive. Slow down when
traveling and allow extra distance between you and the vehicle ahead.
Do not drive into water of unknown depth.

through 600 PM EDT...

At 528 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Lincolnton, or 11 miles east of Washington, moving south at 30 mph.

...Boaters on Lake Strom Thurmond Should Seek Safe Harbor...

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Lincolnton, Mistletoe State Park, Loce, Leah, Winfield, Clay Hill
Campground, Phinizy, Woodlawn, Wildwood Park, Pollards Corner,

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for portions of western
and central Georgia this evening. The strongest storms that form
will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and isolated
large hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday...

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected through Tuesday,
especially during the afternoon and evening hours each day.
Locally heavy rainfall will be the primary concern in these
storms, though a few storms could become strong, capable of
producing gusty winds and some lightning.
