.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

A significant winter storm will continue to bring heavy
accumulating snow into tonight, leading to dangerous travel
conditions area-wide. Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for
the entire outlook area through 6 AM Sunday. Wind gusts up to 35
mph are possible, which will result in blowing and drifting snow,
along with reduced visibilities.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

A quick hitting system will bring widespread light snow to the
area Monday into Monday night. Light accumulations may result from
this.

Reports of snowfall over one inch will be appreciated today and
Sunday.

DISCUSSION...

Additional snow accumulations of up to a few inches are expected to
occur through the overnight hours, primarily in areas north of
Interstate 80. This additional snowfall will further exacerbate
already hazardous travel conditions.

  Elevated Snow Risk in the afternoon and evening.
Wednesday...
  Limited Snow Risk.
Thursday...
  Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION...

There is an increasing chance for accumulating snow Monday
afternoon and night, which may lead to a period of hazardous travel
conditions, with impacts to both the Monday afternoon and Tuesday
morning commutes.

Additional chances for snow exist Wednesday into Thursday and
Friday into Saturday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois, east
central Illinois and west central Illinois.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Moderate to heavy snow late this afternoon with thundersnow possible
from I-55 southeast, will mix with or change to light rain during
this evening before diminishing overnight. An additional 1 to 3
inches of snow is possible into mid evening, with locally 3 to 4
more inches of snow from I-74 northeast. Brisk south winds gusting 25
to 35 mph may produce near whiteout conditions at times into early
evening. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 6 am Sunday.

Additional light snow accumulations are likely Monday afternoon into
Monday night.

especially in northern Iowa.
