...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall
  continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the
  following counties, Bamberg and Orangeburg.

* WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many
  areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 330 AM EDT, river gages along the Edisto River system show
    water levels gradually decreasing, but continue to run high.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Branchville and mainly rural areas of Orangeburg and Bamberg
    Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don`t drown.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South
Carolina...

  Congaree River At Congaree River at Congaree NP Near Gadsden
  affecting Richland and Calhoun Counties.

  Congaree River At Carolina Eastman affecting Richland, Lexington
  and Calhoun Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Residents and those with interests near the river should monitor
water levels and take action if necessary.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued bythis afternoon at 330 PM EDT.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Congaree River at Congaree River at Congaree NP Near
  Gadsden.

* WHEN...Until late Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Flooding begins in the Congaree National
  Park. This will begin to produce flooding of portions of the lower
  boardwalk.
  At 17.0 feet, The access road to the Sandy Run subdivision becomes
  flooded. The lower boardwalk in the Congaree National Park becomes
  flooded by Cedar Creek.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:00 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 16.4 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 1:00 AM EDT Saturday was 16.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.5
    feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late
    tomorrow morning.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 115.0 feet, Flooding occurs in low lying areas of the
  Carolina Eastman Facility and at the Congaree National Park.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:55 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 115.5 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 114.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 1:55 AM EDT Saturday was 116.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    this morning, but could rise above flood stage again due to
    upstream hydro releases.
  - Flood stage is 115.0 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late Sunday morning and continue falling to 8.6 feet
    Wednesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
