...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding of the Lampasas River is occurring.

* WHERE...Bell County along the Lampasas River upstream of
  Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding along the Lampasas River as well as smaller
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is
  ongoing. Farm to Market Road 2670 from Maxdale to Highway 195 is
  currently experiencing floodwater impacts. The river is moving
  swift and carrying a significant amount of debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The Lampasas River continues to rise at the gauge near Ding
    Dong, which is currently at 39.29 feet. This is around a 30
    foot rise since this morning. The river will likely crest in
    the next hour before falling quickly later this evening.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Harker Heights, Stillhouse Hollow Lake, Ding Dong, Maxdale
    and Youngsport.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks, and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

  - At 12:45 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 24.8 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet.
  - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is falling, but may have another small
    crest to around 25 feet this evening. It will then fall below
    flood stage early Tuesday afternoon.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas...

  Llano River at Llano affecting Llano County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.

To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

  - At 2:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 14.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 2:00 PM CDT Sunday was 17.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will oscillate above flood stage with a
    maximum value of 16.3 feet late tonight. It will fall below
    flood stage early Tuesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
