This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

Brief periods of critical fire weather potential is possible this
afternoon along and west of a Dundy to Greeley county line as
southerly winds gust 20-30 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...

Strong southerly winds will develop across the entire Tri-State area
late Saturday morning and persist through the afternoon. Sustained
winds at 30 to 40 mph and gusts up to 55 mph will create hazardous
travel conditions, especially for high profile vehicles on west to
east routes, such as Interstate 70, where cross winds will be
strongest. Areas of blowing dust may further exacerbate travel
difficulties. Strong winds will also create dangerous fire weather.
Outdoor burning is not advised on Saturday.

Thunderstorms may develop along and ahead of an approaching cold
front in northeast Colorado late Saturday afternoon and evening. A
few severe storms capable of producing wind gusts in excess of 65
mph are possible.

This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

No hazardous weather is expected through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Winds will increase Saturday, with gusts to 30-40 mph over the
plains and high mountain valleys by afternoon. Lighter winds will
likely persist in the Boulder to Fort Collins corridor. There
will be a threat of a couple severe thunderstorms over the
northeast plains in the late afternoon and evening, with strong
outflow winds to around 60 mph possible.

With the winds will also come elevated fire weather conditions.

Mountain areas will see mainly snow showers by Saturday night,
bu only light snow accumulations (less than 2 inches) expected.

A chance of showers will linger through early next week, along
with cooler and below normal temperatures. Drier and warmer weather
will return for the latter portions of next week.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and north
central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon.

Elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions will be possible
across the western Sandhills towards the Pine Ridge. The concern is
humidity minimums falling to the 15 to 20 percent range with gusts
up to 25 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Near-critical fire weather conditions are again likely Saturday for
much of western and north central Nebraska. The concern is gusts up
to 45 mph and humidity minimums falling into the 20 to 30 percent
range. Any fire start will have the potential for rapid spread and
erratic behavior.

Southerly winds gusting up to 45 mph, with locally higher gusts
possible for north central Nebraska, are likely Saturday leading to
strong crosswind concerns on east-west routes.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible late Saturday
afternoon but more likely Saturday evening for areas west of Highway
83. A few stronger storms are possible with the main concerns being
isolated damaging wind gusts.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Patchy frost is possible across central and southern portions of the
San Luis Valley early this morning.

Increasing southwest flow will bring breezy conditions and well
above seasonal temperatures, as well as, elevated fire conditions to
the far southeast plains this afternoon.

Increasing coverage of showers, with a few embedded thunderstorms,
is expected along and west of the Continental Divide tonight

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected to
move across the higher terrain through the day Saturday, with a
few possible strong storms pushing east across the I-25 Corridor
into the southeast plains late Saturday afternoon and early evening.
The main risk from storms will be lighting and gusty outflow winds
up to 45 mph, with brief moderate to heavy rainfall, small hail
and gusty winds up to 60 mph possible with the strongest storms.
Light snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches may be possible across
the higher peaks above 10,000 feet, with the greatest accumulations
along the Continental Divide.

Temperatures cool behind the weather passing system, with sub
freezing temperatures expected across the San Luis Valley late
Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Care should be taken
to prevent damage to sensitive vegetation and unprotected outdoor
plumbing across the San Luis Valley.

At and below seasonal temperatures with chances of showers and
storms will continue across the region into the middle of next
week.

Strong south winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected Friday afternoon
and evening, with gusts to near 40 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Wednesday.

Stronger south winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected Saturday
afternoon and evening, with gusts to near 45 mph.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to favor the northeast zones
Sunday night, where some may produce marginally severe wind and
hail.
