...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM MONDAY TO 8 PM EDT
TUESDAY...
* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents
expected. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6
to 11 feet.
* WHERE...Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Knox Counties.
* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, from noon EDT today
through this evening. For the High Surf Advisory, from 8 AM
Monday to 8 PM EDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM MONDAY TO 8 PM EDT
TUESDAY...
* WHAT....Nearshore waves building to between 6 to 9 feet, with a
wave period of 11 to 13 seconds. High rip current risk.
* WHERE...Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties.
* WHEN...From 8 AM Monday to 8 PM EDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents and sneaker waves will lead to dangerous
beach conditions. Waves crashing against rocks can splash
violently upward and wash onlookers out to sea. Some minor
beach erosion is possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A High Surf Advisory Means That High Surf Will Affect Beaches In
The Advisory area...producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion. If you plan to be along the shoreline, keep your distance
from the water, and never turn your back on the ocean.
