...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES OF ALL ISLANDS FROM
6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM MONDAY...

.A powerful storm in the southern hemisphere generated a long-
period south swell will begin to arrive today, and then peak over
the weekend. The swell will remain elevated through Monday, then
gradually diminish.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM
THIS EVENING TO 6 PM HST MONDAY...

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf
Advisory, which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM HST
Monday.

* SURF...increasing to 8 to 12 feet, with locally higher sets
  possible.

* TIMING...gradually building today and tonight, and peaking over
  the weekend.

* IMPACTS...Moderate...Expect strong breaking waves, shore break,
  and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by
ocean safety officials and exercise caution. Know your limits and
seek ocean recreation areas best suited for your abilities. Boaters
should expect recreational surfers and body boarders utilizing harbor
channels to access surfing areas.
