The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM...
  Galveston Bay...

* Until 1245 PM CDT.

* At 1044 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong
  winds, intense lightning, and waterspouts was located over
  Galveston Bay area and adjacent nearshore waters.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

  Coastal waters from Cameron LA to High Island TX out 20 NM...

* Until 1245 PM CDT.

* At 1206 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located near High Island 22, or 11 nm southwest of
  The Mouth Of The Sabine River, moving north at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  West Cameron 48 and High Island 22.
