The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern McPherson County in central Kansas...
  Northwestern Marion County in central Kansas...

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 405 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated numerous showers and
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3
  inches of rain have fallen today. Additional rainfall amounts up to
  3 inches are possible in the warned area through the evening.
  Localized flash flooding is likely.

  HAZARD...Localized life threatening flash flooding. Showers and
           thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Localized life threatening flash flooding of creeks and
           streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that may experience localized flash flooding
  include...
  Canton, Lehigh and Roxbury.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING
FOR NORTHWESTERN SHAWNEE, NORTHEASTERN WABAUNSEE AND SOUTH CENTRAL
JACKSON COUNTIES...

At 424 PM CDT, the public reported creeks out of their banks and
water flowing over roads across northwest Shawnee County. Between 3
and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1
inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already
occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Rossville, Silver Lake, Hoyt, Maple Hill and Willard.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 340 and 349.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  Geary County in east central Kansas...
  Northwestern Morris County in east central Kansas...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 330 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated storms producing heavy rain
  across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
  Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Junction City, Grandview Plaza, White City, Dwight, Parkerville,
  Latimer and Council Grove Lake.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 291 and 302...and
between mile markers 310 and 315.
