Outlook: Hot and humid this evening.

Hazards: Heat index values in the mid 90s to around 100.

Timing: This evening.

Discussion: Temperatures will gradually cool off this evening, with
humidity remaining high.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Outlook: An extended period of hot weather is expected through
Sunday with daily peak heat indices between 100 to 110 degrees.

Thunderstorms are possible over the area Saturday through Monday.
Severe storms are not expected at this time. Gusty winds, lightning,
and heavy rain are possible with any storm.

Discussion: Hot and humid air will persist through the weekend. The
hot and humid air as well as a couple of fronts will bring the
threat for thunderstorms at times.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of eastern Kentucky.

Thunderstorms are possible through early this evening. Some
storms could produce locally heavy rainfall as well as strong wind
gusts.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Thunderstorms will be possible at times from Friday through
Tuesday, although the thunderstorm chances on Friday and Saturday
will be mainly confined to areas near the Virginia and Tennessee
borders.

The heat and humidity will combine to yield heat indices of
between 100 and 105 degrees in most areas during the afternoon

SUNDAY...

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of south central
Indiana and Central Kentucky.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Very hot and humid conditions will push heat index readings over 100
degrees this afternoon. See Excessive Heat Warning for additional
details.

Widely scattered storms are possible through this evening, mainly in
the Bluegrass region. These storms may produce brief torrential
rainfall and locally gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

A strong upper level ridge will persist through much of the weekend.
This will result in a prolonged period of hot and humid conditions
with heat indices ranging from 100 to as high as 110 degrees Friday
through Sunday. The highest heat indices will be near and west of
the I-65 corridor.

A cold front will move through the region late Sunday or Monday and
bring a round of storms.
