...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHEASTERN LAKE AND CENTRAL
VOLUSIA COUNTIES UNTIL 715 PM EDT...

At 634 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Paisley to near DeLeon Springs. These
storms were nearly stationary.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Daytona Beach, DeLand, Orange City, Lake Helen and Cassia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

LAURENS...DODGE AND SOUTHEASTERN PULASKI COUNTIES UNTIL 715 PM EDT...

At 629 PM EDT...a strong thunderstorm was over Horse Creek Wma, or 14
miles north of Broxton...moving east at 5 mph.

  HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind...frequent cloud to ground lightning
           and heavy rain.

  IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
           light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
           street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Some locations in the path of this storm include
Dublin, Cordele, McRae, Eastman, Lyons, Soperton, Abbeville, Alamo,
Mount Vernon, Vidalia, Helena, Chester, Lumber City, Rochelle,
Glenwood, Milan, Uvalda, Arabi, Dexter and Cadwell.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.
