Advisory for the Des Plaines River...

  Des Plaines River at Lincolnshire affecting Lake County
  Des Plaines River at River Forest affecting Cook County

.Heavy rainfall will continue through early evening, with additional
rainfall amounts today of up to 1 inch expected. The combination of
this heavy rainfall with frozen ground and some recent snow melt will
result elevated river levels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...If you encounter a flooded roadway...turn around and
find an alternate route.

* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Water begins to flow over N Canal Drive in
  Woodland Shores. River out of banks and onto unimproved area on
  west First Street in Dixon. Flooding of backyards at Sherman Avenue
  and River Street in Dixon. Flooding of some unimproved land on
  Riverside Drive in White Oaks. Part of Lowell Road at Lowell Park
  floods around the boat dock.
