A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the

* IMPACTS...At 10.5 feet, Water overflows low-lying river banks along
  Bluegrass Road east of Sumava Resorts and along Westwood Drive and
  Island Boulevard near Shelby. Water begins to be diverted through
  the Blackberry Marsh Spillway to reduce flood impacts.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:45 PM CDT Monday the stage was 10.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this
    evening and continue falling through the week.
  - Flood stage is 10.5 feet.

.Several inches of rainfall over the past week have brought moderate
flooding to the Wabash River. The crest on the Wabash is past
Independence and approaching Covington on Monday afternoon. The
crest is forecast to reach Riverton this weekend. Additional
rainfall later this week could lengthen the amount of time spent in
flood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

  water backs up into Mud Run, cutting off some county roads just
  northwest of Covington.  North Sandhill Road begins to flood from
  Mallory Branch.  Mud Creek extensively floods W CR 260 N and
  Sandhill Road by backwater from the Wabash River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:45 AM EDT Monday the stage was 25.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:45 AM EDT Monday was 25.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.2
    feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage
    Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive flooding covers many acres of
  agricultural land. SR 225 closed by high water. Granville Bridge
  Public Access Site flooded. Tippecanoe CR 950 W south of CR 75 S
  floods in several places from the Wabash Bottoms, Janssen Tract to
  Warren CR 350 N in the Black Rock Preserve Area, a distance of
  nearly 1.5 miles. High water affects Fort Ouiatenon area. All
  parks in the West Lafayette and Lafayette areas are flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM EDT Monday the stage was 18.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:30 AM EDT Monday was 19.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
