...FRONT MOVING DOWN THE LAKE...

The areas affected include...

  Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor...
  Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid
Lake...

At 537 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a front moving south down the
lake. Winds will increase behind the front with gusts to around 25
to 30 knots. This front was located along a line extending from 12
nm east of Winthrop Harbor to near Waukegan Harbor to 7 nm east of
McHenry, moving south at 15 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots and locally
higher waves. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until
these storms pass.

...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
  Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Holland MI...

At 645 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms producing waterspouts were
located along a line extending from 20 nm west of Saugatuck Pier
Heads to 15 nm northwest of St. Joseph Light, moving east at 30
knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small
         hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
         higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
South Haven Light, St. Joseph Light, and St. Joseph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts that can result in
locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
