...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Illinois, including the
  following counties, southeastern Bond, Clinton and Washington.

* WHEN...Until 715 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 502 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Breese, Carlyle, Nashville, Aviston, Okawville, St. Rose,
    Germantown, Wamac, Beckemeyer, Irvington, Tamalco, Ashley,
    Beaver Creek, Shattuc, Boulder, Jamestown, Posen, Pierron,
    Bartelso and Beaucoup.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  including the following counties, in south central Illinois,
  southwestern Clinton and western Washington. In southwest
  Illinois, eastern Saint Clair.

* WHEN...Until 715 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 420 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen, with very localized areas of up to 3 inches.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    O`Fallon, Shiloh, Mascoutah, Lebanon, Freeburg, New Baden,
    Scott AFB, Trenton, New Athens, Marissa, Aviston, Okawville,
    Albers, Lively Grove, New Memphis, St. Libory, Lenzburg,
    Johannisburg, Damiansville and Summerfield.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 310 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Centralia, Salem, Sandoval, Wamac, Central City, Odin,
    Kinmundy, Patoka, Farina, Omega, Stephen Forbes Station,
    Fairman, Helm, Tonti, La Clede, Iuka, Junction City, St.
    Peter, Alma and Kell.
