...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NASH...EDGECOMBE AND HALIFAX
COUNTIES THROUGH 115 AM EST...

At 1207 AM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles west of Scotland Neck to near Bailey.
Movement was northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph and heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Nashville, Halifax, Scotland Neck, Dortches,
Bailey, Red Oak, Enfield, and Princeville.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 160 and 127.
 NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 24 and 33.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

NORTHEASTERN JOHNSTON COUNTIES THROUGH 1245 AM EST...

At 1151 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Smithfield, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Smithfield, Wilson, Elm City, Fremont, Micro, Selma, Sharpsburg, Four
Oaks, Pine Level, and Kenly.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 121 and 90.
 NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 34 and 56.
