This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight
A strong storm system will affect the western Lake Superior
nearshore waters through Thursday night. Rain and snow are
expected to produce reduced visibilities. Gales to 40 knots are
expected with a 40 to 70% chance of gusts to 45 knots tonight. The
highest probabilities will be found along the North Shore from
Silver Bay to Grand Portage and over the Outer Apostle Islands.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
A strong storm system will continue to impact western Lake
Superior through Thursday. Rain and snow are expected to produce
reduced visibilities. Gales to 40 knots are expected Wednesday
into Wednesday night with a 40 to 70% chance of gusts to 45 knots
through Wednesday afternoon. The highest probabilities will be
found along the North Shore from Silver Bay to Grand Portage and
over the Outer Apostle Islands. Winds will gradually diminish
Thursday into early Friday morning.

Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight
A pre-Thanksgiving Winter Storm will impact northeast Minnesota
and northwest Wisconsin.
Heavy snow is expected this evening into Wednesday for much of
the area with snowfall rates of more than 1 inch per hour.
Wind gusts around 30 to 45 mph along the South Shore will combine
with the heavy snow to create blizzard conditions. Winter Storm
Warnings, Blizzard Warnings, and Winter Weather Advisories are in
effect.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
For most places, snow will taper off from west to east Wednesday
afternoon and Wednesday night. Heavy lake-effect snow will
continue along the South Shore into Thursday. Blizzard conditions
will continue Wednesday with winds gradually decreasing Wednesday
night. Travel will be very difficult in the days ahead of
Thanksgiving. Winter Storm Warnings, Blizzard Warnings, and
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect into Wednesday night.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, southwest
Minnesota, south central South Dakota and southeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
Northwest winds gusting in excess of 45 mph will be common,
continuing into this evening and perhaps beyond midnight in areas
east of I-29. The strong winds will be accompanied by areas of light
snow.
Although snow accumulation is expected to remain on the light side,
generally around an inch or less, the combination of snow and strong
winds will create areas of blowing snow, with visibility reduced to
a mile or less at times. Conditions may change rapidly as the snow
begins falling, so please plan ahead and use caution if traveling.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
The risk for widespread moderate snow accumulations grows by Friday
afternoon and continues through Saturday. Those traveling after the
Thanksgiving holiday should begin to monitor their forecast now.

South Dakota and east central South Dakota.

Light rain will change to snow later this evening, as strong winds
begin to move in from the west. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches
may be possible, and when combined with the potential for 60 mph
winds, poor travel conditions are expected. At times, near blizzard
conditions may be possible. Snow will dissipate after midnight
tonight with gradual improvement.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for west central Minnesota and
northeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
Strong winds will continue to gust out of the northwest 40 to near
60 mph over portions of northeastern South Dakota through western MN
this afternoon and this evening before diminishing a bit. Snow will
also continue this afternoon, and when combined with the strong
winds, will lead to blowing snow and visibilities falling to one half
mile or less at times. In far northeast South Dakota and into west
central Minnesota, blizzard conditions are expected through the early
part of the evening. In northeast South Dakota and west central
Minnesota, an additional 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected through
this evening.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Additional snow is possible over the region on Friday and into the
weekend.

Northwest wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected later tonight,
strongest west of the Mississippi River and on ridgetops. Some
light snow accumulation is possible by daybreak.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
Northwest wind gusts 40 to 50 mph are expected Wednesday,
strongest west of the Mississippi River. Additional morning snow
accumulation could produce totals of up to an inch and make for
slippery roads. The snow will shift east by Wednesday afternoon
but the winds will persist. Wind Advisories and Winter Weather
Advisories have been issued.
Accumulating snow is looking likely for Friday night and Saturday
with probabilities increasing (50-70%) for over 6 inch totals.
Predictability is still low-medium but those traveling should keep
an eye on the latest forecasts.

along with 1 to 3 inches of snow west and north of La Crosse,
less further east. Winds will be strongest in southeast Minnesota
and on ridgetops.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
Northwest wind gusts 40 to 50 mph are expected Wednesday,
strongest west of the Mississippi River. Additional morning snow
will bring snow totals to 1-4 inches along the I-90 corridor,
north to I-94. Higher amounts of 2-5 inches are expected north of
I-94. The snow will end from west to east Wednesday afternoon.
Wind Advisories and Winter Weather Advisories have been issued.
Accumulating snow is looking likely for Friday night and Saturday
with probabilities increasing (50-70%) for over 6 inch totals
near and south of Interstate 94. Predictability is still low-
medium but those traveling should keep an eye on the latest
