This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Small Craft Advisories remain in effect as northwest winds
gradually decrease over western Lake Superior. Gusts of up to 35
knots this morning will decrease to 30 knots or less late in the
morning and this afternoon. Waves of 5 to 8 feet along the South
Shore this morning will gradually diminish through today and
tonight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday
Another period of conditions hazardous to small craft arrives
Sunday into early next week as northwest winds increase.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
South Shore lake effect snow showers will continue today. A
Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect for Iron County in Wisconsin
through today for accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. There will also
be scattered snow showers elsewhere across northeast Minnesota
and northwest Wisconsin. Most areas will see little if any
accumulation. However, lake effect showers may be found downwind
of any open inland lakes where light accumulations may develop.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday
Additional accumulating snow is expected Saturday and Saturday
night, especially across northwest Wisconsin and the Interstate 35
corridor of northeast Minnesota. There is a 60 percent chance of
2 inches or more of snowfall by Sunday morning.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa and southwest Minnesota.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Confidence continues to grow that a winter storm will impact post-
holiday travel Friday into Saturday night. Periods of moderate to
locally heavy snow are possible, with a High Probability (>70%) of
at least 6 inches of snow for areas near and east of Minnesota and
Iowa Highway 60.
Adjustments to the area of heaviest snowfall and amounts are still
possible as details evolve. However, with such a strong signal for
impactful snowfall, now is the time to prepare. Continue to monitor
the forecast and be open to adjusting travel plans.
This storm system will be followed by a stretch of even colder air,
with sub-zero nighttime wind chills early next week.

northeast Nebraska, central South Dakota, east central South
Dakota, south central South Dakota and southeast South Dakota.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Confidence continues to grow that a winter storm will impact post-

by persistent light snow Friday night into Saturday night. There is
a Moderate Probability (40 to 70%) of at least 6 inches of snow.

impactful snowfall, now is the time to prepare. Continue to monitor
the forecast and be open to adjusting travel plans.

central South Dakota, north central South Dakota and northeast
South Dakota.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Confidence is increasing for a winter system to impact central and
northeastern SD Friday and Saturday, with a 30-80% chance of
receiving 3 or more inches of snow during in this area. Adjustments
to the area of heaviest snowfall and amounts are still possible as
details emerge over the next 24 hours, due to the banded nature at
the start of this system.
Below zero wind chills possible over northern SD each morning
through Sunday. Wind chills will fall into the teens to near 20
below zero Sunday, Monday and Tuesday mornings.
