.KEY MESSAGES...

- Gusty winds continue with gusts around 20-25 MPH,
  isolated 30+ MPH expected.
- Dry and below normal temperatures continue through the
  Thanksgiving holiday.
- Confidence is increasing in impactful weather for the weekend
  after Thanksgiving. Rain, mixed precipitation, and snow are
  possible. Both road and air travel are likely to be impacted.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Northwest winds gusting 30 to 40 mph will linger into this morning,
especially near and east of Interstate 29. Locations which received
rain on Tuesday or accumulating snow overnight may see scattered
slick spots from which could impact the morning commute.

Winds will gradually decrease through the afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

The risk for widespread moderate snow accumulations grows by Friday
afternoon and continues through Saturday. Those traveling after the
Thanksgiving holiday should continue to monitor the forecast and be
prepared to adjust travel plans as needed.

This storm system will be followed by a stretch of even colder air,
with sub-zero nighttime wind chills early next week.
