west central Missouri...as well as extreme eastern Kansas.

There is a low probability of widespread hazardous weather.

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Warmer than normal temperatures and dry conditions continue
through this afternoon.

- Precipitation chances increase this evening into tonight with the
highest probabilities (30-50%) east of I-35 and north of I-70.

- After a warm and dry Friday, low precipitation chances (30-40%)
return on Saturday. A strong cold front will bring much colder
temperatures for Sunday.

Elevated fire weather concerns are possible today due to gusty
winds and dry conditions. Use caution when burning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

There is an increasing chance for accumulating snow on Saturday
across the northern half of Iowa. Temperatures will fall
substantially and may ice up roadways, resulting in the
possibility of worsening road conditions overnight and Sunday
morning.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Gusty winds are expected beginning Thursday morning. Southerly winds
will gust 30-40 mph through mid-afternoon. Some locally higher gusts
are possible, especially in southwestern Minnesota along the Buffalo
Ridge. Winds decrease through the evening, but remain slightly
breezy overnight with gusts 15-20 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

A early winter system will move through the region from Friday night
into Saturday potentially bringing rain and accumulating snow to the
region. Details remain uncertain, but monitor the forecast,
especially if you have travel plans.

An influx of colder air over the weekend will lead to wind chills in
the single digits to teens through Tuesday morning.

central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Near critical fire weather conditions are possible this afternoon
across portions of the outlook area. The main area of concern is west
of a line from Hayes Center to Valentine.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Elevated fire weather conditions are possible Friday afternoon,
mainly west of a line from North Platte to Valentine.

On Saturday, gusty northwesterly winds are expected behind an
exiting cold front. Wind gusts up to 45 mph are possible.
