This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, east central Nebraska, northeast Nebraska and southeast
Nebraska.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
Strong northwest winds develop tonight and continue into Wednesday
morning. Gusts up to 55 to 65 mph appear likely along and north of
I-80, with gusts of 45 to 55 mph expected to the south. The strong
winds may cause some tree damage and scattered power outages.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
There is also a chance of accumulating snow (20-30% chance)
Wednesday night into Thursday over northeast Nebraska and west-
central Iowa. The exact location of snow and total amounts are
uncertain at this time. Colder temperatures move back in on Friday
and stick around through the weekend with morning temperatures in
the single digits to below zero.

* Breezy conditions today and tomorrow. Today wind gusts will range
from 20-30 mph. Wednesday morning wind gusts will range from 40-50
mph. The strongest winds are anticipated for northern MO
immediately behind the cold front Wednesday morning. A wind
advisory is in effect for areas north of HWY-36.
* Increasing confidence in much cooler temperatures late this
week into the weekend.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
Patchy dense fog will be possible through sunrise.
A winter system will bring periods of rain, wintry mix, light snow,
and strong winds to the region today. Strong westerly winds with gusts
between 50-60 mph could blow and/or drift our existing snowpack
created near-whiteout to whiteout conditions at times this evening
and overnight. However, some uncertainty remains.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Beginning Thursday snow chances will return and persist throughout
the rest of the week and weekend. Currently snowfall totals look to
remain light.
An influx of arctic air over the weekend will lead to cold
temperatures and even colder wind chills. Wind chills as low as
-25 degrees will be possible each night through Sunday morning.

central Nebraska.

Strong westerly winds this afternoon of 25 to 35 mph gusting
up to 55 mph mainly near and west of Highway 83.
A fast moving cold front moves through this evening, with northwest
winds at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph tonight. The strongest
winds tonight are expected near and east of a line from Valentine
through Broken Bow.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Light snow will be possible periodically Wednesday night through
Saturday morning. At this time, little to no accumulations are
expected.
Below zero wind chills are expected mainly during the early morning
hours Friday through Sunday across north central Nebraska.
