...Very strong wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph expected behind cold
front late tonight and early Sunday...

.An intense area of low pressure will move into the upper Midwest
and Great lakes tonight and generate strong west winds across the
Quad State region in the wake of a passing cold front.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 6 AM CST
SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from midnight tonight to 6 AM CST
Sunday.

* TIMING...The strongest winds will follow the passage of a cold
  front after midnight tonight and continue through daybreak
  Sunday.

* WINDS...Sustained westerly winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 40
  and 45 mph are expected.

* IMPACTS...Given the extremely saturated soil, some trees may be
  toppled, which could cause some power outages. Any loose or
  unsecured objects left outdoors will likely be tossed by the
  winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are expected to
reach 30 mph or greater for longer than one hour...or wind gusts
are expected to reach 40 mph for any duration.

South winds will increase in advance of a deep low pressure
system over the central plains. Winds will become southwesterly
late this afternoon into early evening, following the passage of a
thunderstorm squall line. The Wind Advisory has been issued for
strong winds not associated with thunderstorms.

* WINDS...West winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph.

* IMPACTS...Due to the extremely wet ground, trees will be
  especially prone to being blown down. Any loose outdoor objects
  may be blown around.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 to 39 mph and/or gusts of
40 to 57 mph are expected, or are occurring. Winds this strong
can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Advisory, which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST
Sunday.

* WINDS...Southeast 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. By
  Sunday morning, winds become west 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to
  40 mph, especially over ridgetops.

* LOCATIONS...mainly the higher elevations, above 1500 feet, of
  extreme north Georgia.

* TIMING...Tonight through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Trees
  will be more prone to being knocked down or uprooted due to the
  saturated grounds. A few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

20 mph...or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds this
