...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM PDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Nevada, including
  the following counties, in north central Nevada, Eureka. In
  northeast Nevada, Elko.

* WHEN...Until 845 AM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Debris flows from recent Cottonwood Peak Fire burn scar.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 339 AM PDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 0.5 and 1.3 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.7 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

    Chicken Creek Summit.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
