...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM
PST THIS EVENING NEAR BEACHES AND HEADLANDS...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a High Wind
Warning Near Beaches and Headlands, which is in effect from 1 PM
this afternoon to 7 PM PST this evening.

* WINDS...South 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph.

* LOCATION...Beaches and headlands of the South Washington Coast
  and North Oregon Coast. Relatively lighter winds are expected
  for the coastal communities.

* TIMING...1 PM today to 7 PM this evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down trees, branches, and power
  lines. Isolated power outages are possible. Travel may be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means hazardous weather conditions of strong
and damaging winds are imminent or highly likely in the warning
area.

* Winds: South winds 35 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph. Higher
  gusts are possible along headlands and capes.

* Timing: Mid Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night.

* Locations include: Coastal communities from Cape Ferrelo to
  Cape Arago, including Gold Beach, Port Orford, and Cape Blanco.

* Impacts: Strong winds will combine with heavy rain to produce
  hazardous driving conditions, especially for high profile
  vehicles.
