  morning and continue to rise to near 9.3 feet by Sunday evening.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Minor flood stage. Farmlands and timberlands
  adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.

  Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet, Flooding threatens to close US117.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet, Strobe lights at the end of the runway at
  Seymour Johnson Air Force base are flooded.
* Impact...At 22.5 feet, Evacuation of some homes in the Mar-Mac area
  and possibly the Buckhorn Island subdivision may be necessary.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet, Flooding begins on Seymour Johnson Air Force
  Base.
* Impact...At 21.0 feet, Riverview Trailer Park homes and Stevens Mill
  Road begin to flood.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Arrington Bridge Road and access roads around
  Seymour Johnson Air Force Base flood.
* Impact...At 19.5 feet, Ferry Bridge Road begins to flood.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet, Minor flood stage. Water overflows the banks
  at the SR1915 bridge and upstream of the US117 bridge.

* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  late this morning.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Minor flood stage. Flooding is likely upstream
  of the gage site along North Plank Road just south of highway 421
  in Lee county, and on R Jordan Road north of highway 421 in Chatham
  county. At the gage site, flooding reaches the base of the river
  gage housing, but is confined to woods and pasture immediately
  adjacent to the river.

* Impact...At 50.0 feet, There is significant overflow on the left
  bank about 2 miles downstream of the NC24 bridge.
* Impact...At 48.0 feet, Moderate flood stage. The upper parking areas
  at Riverside Bait and Tackle are flooded. There is significant
  lowland flooding downstream.
* Impact...At 35.0 feet, Flood stage. The boat ramp and lower parking
  lot at Riverside Bait and Tackle off Person Street are flooded. The
  stage and lower seating area at the Cape Fear amphitheater are
  flooded.
* Impact...At 32.0 feet, Action Stage. Banks begin to overflow.

  north of the bridge in Hookerton floods. Water threatens homes on
  Loop Road and Four Way Road between Snow Hill and Hookerton, as
  well as further upstream in northwest Greene County.

* At  8 PM Friday the stage was 25.8 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will remain near 25.8 feet though midnight
  tonight then begin falling.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Water floods the intersection of HWY 258 and
  HWY 70. Numerous homes and businesses flood along and south of HWY
  70. All major highways on the south side of Kinston are impassible.
  The Contentnea Creek backs up and causes major flooding in Grifton,
  with homes and businesses inundated up to Main Street. Major
  flooding will also occur in Tick Bite where numerous homes are
  flooded. East of Kinston, HWY 55 is impassable at low spots around
  the bridge with some homes flooded.

At 1227 PM EDT, Flooding continues due to the extreme rainfall from
Florence working through area rivers and streams.  Use caution when
traveling or performing recovering activities. Please continue to
heed any road closures.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kinston, Wallace, Warsaw, La Grange, Mount Olive, Kornegay, Rose
Hill, Beulaville, Deep Run, Bowdens, Cypress Creek, Beautancus,
Comfort, Kenansville, Chinquapin, Dawson, Potters Hill and Graingers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  advisory area due to high water. Use caution when traveling or
  performing recovering activities. Several river Flood Warnings
  remain in effect for areas within flood zones. These warning and

  The Northeast Cape Fear Near Burgaw.

* At  8:30 AM Friday the stage was 24.55 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Record flooding is occurring and Record flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 23.7 feet by tomorrow
  morning.
* Impact...At 22.4 feet...12 miles of Highway 53 are underwater,in some cases 7
  feet deep, between the Northeast Cape Fear bridge and Maple Hill. All homes
  including 60 in River Bend, 20 to 25 in River Birch and 12 in the Alligator
  Lake subdivision are flooded. 20 to 30 homes in Holly Shelter estates are
  underwater. In the Sandy Bend subdivision, off Shaw Highway, 40 to 50 homes,
  which is half of the homes in the subdivision sustain flooding. Portions of
  Croomsbridge, Island Creek and White Stocking Roads are underwater.
