...AIR QUALITY HEALTH ADVISORY FOR BLOWING DUST FROM 900 AM
TUESDAY UNTIL 700 PM TUESDAY...

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has
issued the following...

WHAT...Air Quality Health Advisory for Blowing Dust.

WHERE...Sedgwick, Logan, Crowley, Phillips, Morgan, Yuma,
Washington, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Bent, Prowers,
Otero, Las Animas, Baca, Weld, Adams, Arapahoe, Elbert, El Paso
and Pueblo Counties. Locations include, but are not limited to
Julesburg, Sterling, Ordway, Holyoke, Fort Morgan, Wray, Akron,
Burlington, Limon, Cheyenne Wells, Eads, Las Animas, Lamar, La
Junta, Kim, Trinidad, Springfield, Greeley, Brighton, Deer Trail,
Littleton, Kiowa, Colorado Springs and Pueblo.

WHEN...900 AM Tuesday February 17 to 700 PM Tuesday February 17

IMPACTS...Areas of blowing dust are expected on Tuesday due to
high winds throughout the advisory area. The threat from blowing
dust will decrease Tuesday evening as wind speeds subside.

HEALTH INFORMATION...Public Health Recommendations: If significant
blowing dust is present and reducing visibility to less than 10
miles across a wide area, People with heart or lung disease, older
adults, and children in the affected area should reduce prolonged
or heavy indoor and outdoor exertion.

...BLOWING DUST HEALTH ALERT IN EFFECT FOR THE POWDER RIVER BASIN OF
NORTHEASTERN WYOMING IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 5 PM MST
THIS AFTERNOON...

The following message is transmitted in collaboration with the
Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Division.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* WHERE...Powder River Basin of northeastern Wyoming.

* WHEN...9 AM to 5 PM MDT today.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds will create blowing dust.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The Wyoming Air Quality Division recommends the elderly, young
children, and individuals with respiratory problems avoid
excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor activities during
this time. Although these people are most susceptible to health
impacts, the air quality division also advises that everyone
should avoid prolonged exposure to the poor air quality
conditions.
