NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Virginia...

  Roanoke (Staunton) River at Randolph affecting Charlotte and Halifax
  Counties
  Dan River at South Boston affecting Halifax County

 Minor flooding was occurring on the Dan River at South Boston.
 Moderate Flooding was occurring on the Roanoke River at Randolph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive through flooded areas...the water may be much deeper
than you think.

 Graphical forecast information is available on the internet at

The next scheduled statement will be issued by noon.

  the Dan River at South Boston.
* until Tuesday afternoon.
* at 11PM Sunday the stage was 24.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Tuesday
  morning.
* Flood history...the crest of 25.6 feet compares to a previous crest
  of 25.7 feet on Dec 27 2015.

  the Roanoke (Staunton) River at Randolph.
* until Wednesday morning.
* at 10PM Sunday the stage was 26.0 feet and falling.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Tuesday
  before midnight.
* Impact...at 25.0 feet...Water is several feet deep on portions of
  River Road and Black Walnut Road.
* Flood history...the crest of 26.4 feet Sunday morning compares to a
  previous crest of 26.9 feet on January 27 2010.
