forecast.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  Ball Road, is impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 20.3 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.4
    feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage
    late Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    23.4 feet on 05/17/2009.

  Conservation Area, the Old River Road North of Schell City and
  Lost Creek west of Schell Lake. Flood waters overflow the main
  river channel at the gage site.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 24.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 23.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday was 24.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood
    stage at 23.9 feet.
  - Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    25.3 feet on 08/12/2013.

  - At 6:06 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 16.2 feet and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    just after midnight tonight to a crest of 20.0 feet Friday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

    tomorrow morning to a crest of 29.1 feet. It will then fall
    below flood stage tomorrow evening.

* WHEN...Until Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Flood waters spread over fields to a
  distance of 1 and one fourth miles. Several county roads, mainly
  along the left bank are inundated. Several residents which live
  along the right bank in the vicinity of Highway 400 may experience
  water entering their homes at basement levels.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 20.6 feet and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this evening to a crest of 22.9 feet tomorrow evening. It
    will then fall below flood stage Friday evening.
  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

* WHERE...Illinois River at Chewey.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night to Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Fidler`s
  Bend to near Hanging Rock. Road access near the river to
  residential homes southeast of Chewey Bridge may be compromised.
  Water begins to impact 630 Road east of the Cherokee/Adair County
  line. Floating the river is too hazardous due to strong turbulence.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 2:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 6.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.0
    feet early Friday morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

  threatened.

  - At 1:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 15.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.3
    feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage
    Sunday morning.
