...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING
FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR WESTERN NEVADA SIERRA FRONT
INCLUDING THE DAVIS FIRE...

* This is a Particularly Dangerous Situation for today starting
  at 11 AM.

* CHANGES...Updated for lower humidity this morning and included
  stronger ridge top gusts.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 420 Northern Sierra Front
  including Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Southern Washoe,
  Western Lyon and and Far Southern Lassen Counties.

* Winds...West to southwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 40
  mph or more by late morning. Ridge top gusts 50 to 70 mph.

* Humidity...Minimum 8-15% this morning...then 12-22% by mid-
  afternoon.

* Duration...6 or more hours of critical conditions today.

* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can
  cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first
  responders can contain them.

* Additional Details...The last PDS Red Flag Warning was issued
  September 15, 2019.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a particularly dangerous situation with high winds and
dry conditions. New and existing fires will grow rapidly out of
control, in some cases people may not be able to evacuate safely
in time.

Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry
vegetation, such as yard work, target shooting, or campfires.
Follow local fire restrictions. Check weather.gov/reno for
updates and livingwithfire.info for preparedness tips.

  Fire Weather Zone 421 Southern Sierra Front including Alpine,
  Northern Mono, Southern Lyon, and Western Mineral Counties,
  Fire Weather Zone 423 West Humboldt Basin in Pershing County
  and Fire Weather Zone 429 Lahontan Basin including Churchill
  and Eastern Mineral Counties.

* Winds...West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph. Ridge
  top gusts 40 to 60 mph.

* Humidity...Minimum 8-15% this afternoon.

* Duration...3 to 6 hours of critical conditions.

* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can
  cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first
  responders can contain them.
