...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK EXTENDED AND NOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EST
THIS MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE...Pinellas, Coastal Hillsborough, Coastal Manatee,
  Coastal Sarasota, Coastal Charlotte and Coastal Lee Counties.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Strong rip currents will lead to dangerous swimming
  conditions at area beaches. Rip currents can sweep even the
  best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH 6 PM THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Numerous strong and dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Southern Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin,
  Coastal Volusia and Northern Brevard Counties.

* WHEN...Rip Currents will be present through late afternoon, with
  the greatest risk occurring between 12 noon and 6 PM.

* IMPACTS...Rip Currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
